Awards: "Santhosham Best Actress" for the film 'Anukokunda O Roju'Charmi(Charmy) Kaur is one of the emerging South Indian film actress.She acted about 25 telugu movies after her debut in the film 'Nee Thodu Kavali' in 2002.Charmi started her career as an actress at an early age of just 14.But,her debut film was a flop at the box office.Her next few films including 'Kadal Azhavatillai' and 'Silambarasan' were also flops.However,her re-entry to the telugu films with 'Sri Anjaneyam' opposite Nitin was ended as one of the blockbusters of 2004.This film was directed by popular Telugu film director 'Krishna Vamsi'.Then after she experienced a couple of flops once again at the box office.But,again her re-entry with the film 'Mass' opposite Yuvasamrat Nagarjuna was the major breakthrough and positioned her in Tollywood.Next, she acted in some hit films like ' Anukokunda Oka Roju',Lakshmi,Style,Rakhi and her latest hit movie was 'Mantra'.Charmi acted with almost all popular heroes of Telugu film industry including Venkatesh,Nagarjuna,Prabhas,Siddarth,Rajiteja,Nitin,Jr.NTR,Simbu,Sumanth,Bala Krishna,etc.

The beautiful actress Charmi is one of the thorough professionals. She learnt Telugu as she is acting in Telugu films, though she is from Punjab. Earlier she did glamorous roles in the films, later she switched from the glamour roles to more serious and character oriented roles proving herself to her critics that she was not just about the looks. The sources say that Charmi seems that she has taken her latest criticism about her very seriously and lost lot of weight. She has become slim and fit. The actress was spotted on the sets of a film’s shooting with Venu. Charmi had been to gym to lose her weight. Now she is looking perfect and happy.

Her path to this film industry started when she was walking in the roads of Mumbai where a modeling coordinator got very impressed on her appearance and asked her for a modeling assignment. But as she was too young and wanted to continue her studies she refused it. But still the coordinator invited her to watch a shooting of a Hindi movie and there again her sparkling smile lit up her face and she was offered with "Nee Thodu Kaavali" in Telugu. And as she was on her holidays she readily accepted it there she started her career as an actress at the age of 13. Though she left to Mumbai after her holidays, she just couldn't sit without acting. So she stated looking out for Bollywood movies in Mumbai and it was Director T. R. Rajendran from who gave her entry into the Tamil film Industry for his film "Kadhal Azivathillai" after which she also did a Malayalam film. Though it was "Neeke manasichanu" which gave her a re-entry into the Tollywood, it was truly "Sri Anjaneyam" that took her to the sky. And now she is filled with more and more offers and busy with all her shooting schedules.
